ROAD CLOSURES
Bear Creek Road, anticipate re-opening after construction is completed spring of 2026.
65th South between 5th West and 15th West closed for bridge replacement anticipated opening spring of 2026.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Iona Road between Ammon Road and45th East is being reconstructed to accommodate one lane in each direction, and a center turn lane.
ROAD MAINTENANCE
There is an ongoing upgrade project for gravel county roads west of Idaho Falls. During the winter of 2018/2019, road base material will be placed on 12 miles of roads including 145th North, 129th North, 113th North, 55th West and 125th West. Approximately 300,000 tons of maintenance material will be placed on west side gravel roads during the next 5 to 7 years.
FUTURE ROAD PROJECTS
49th North between Ammon Road and 45th East is in final design phase, this project is being designed to accommodate two lanes in each direction, and a center turn lane. Project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2026.
First Street between Ammon Road and 45th East is in final design phase. This project is being designed for two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane, sidewalk, and curb & gutter, but will be constructed at this time with one lane in each direction, a center turn lane with drainage swales.
First Street between 25th East and Ammon Road Joint project with the City of Ammon - Design is nearly completed. This project will include two lanes in each direction and a center turn lane.
145th North (County Line Road) between 55th East and Ririe Highway
Design is nearly completed; project will reconstruct roadway adding approximately 1 foot on each side of the roadway.
